Understanding and Intervening in the Behavior of Youth

PBF equips participants with the tools needed to support children in the demonstration of positive behavior.  The six tools of PBF comprise the 36-hour comprehensive & research-based curriculum.  Using a variety of exercises and practice opportunities, participants learn how to encourage self-supportive behaviors in children.

PBF offers:

    • A Comprehensive Curriculum
    • 6 Practical Tools
    • Experiential Learning

A Comprehensive Curriculum

This 36-hour research and evidence-based curriculum presents tools for developing a broad and comprehensive view of understanding and facilitating positive behavior. To provide this view, PBF pairs a philosophical frame of reference with effective strategies for success. PBF equips and enables adults to encourage self-supportive vs. self-defeating behaviors from youth.

6 Practical Tools

Equipped with the six tools of PBF, adults can master several necessary elements for facilitating positive behavior.  These include:

    • developing self-awareness & the skills to self-manage
    • examining & understanding conflict
    • creating supportive & nurturing environments
    • understanding how to manage behavior & facilitate behavioral change
    • learning techniques to address surface behavior
    • communicating effectively with children & adults

Experiential Learning

Throughout the course, PBF utilizes experiential education to engage participants in a process encouraging reflection about what is learned. The opportunity to contemplate allows for the development of enhanced and new skills, attitudes, ways of thinking, and behaviors. Participants have hands-on experiences with the six PBF tools and practice the skills necessary for mastery.
